Creating Hybrid Classes by mixing and matching Special Abilities and Weaknesses will definitely have to be supported in the main GROOVY Ghastly Affair rules. Something about a modern setting seems to make people want the option to play less stereotypical characters.

When I run GA, a regular True Innocent can’t also take actual Levels in another, separate Class – but I agree that True Innocent Special Abilities can be incorporated into a Hybrid Class, with some interesting results. Like combining True Innocent and Magician abilities to make a miracle-working Saint. Maybe there should be a supplement discussing different Hybrid Class possibilities for PCs in depth. Hmmm….

(By way of explanation to new readers of this blog, a version of the Everyman Class was incorporated into my game Ghastly Affair, and that’s what’s being discussed here is a variant/hack of GA that will focus on Gothic stories set in the1960s and 70s.)

The reason I bring it up was that I thought it might make a good model for “gothing up” regular professions:
Profession, Social Contacts, one of Affection and Inheritance, and one of Phobia or Prejudice – then the attribute bonus (I didn’t take that, but I think it would work), two special abilities and one weakness from the class you’re combining it with.

While you rule True Innocents can’t multiclass, allowing it be included in such mashups is a way to get a degree of inspiring good nature, into someone more worldly.
Like +2 Charisma, Profession, Social Contacts, Affecion, Grace of Heaven, Inspiration of the Virtuous pretty much sums her up (but she has no more ability to resist Dracula’s power than anything else, and certainly can’t redeem him). Likewise, she doesn’t display a Prejudice or Phobia, but might have one we didn’t see – the certainly suffers from Misfortunes of Virtue over the course of the story – but she’s not prone to swooning.
